I started this journal inspired by my professor, Oscar Mink. He spoke to us about collaboration as a powerful methodology for organizing work groups (including global work groups). I thought it would be interesting for a group of graduate students to work together to create a vision for others to share based on each of our areas of expertise. I think it was a good idea but I didn't realize how hard we would be working just to get through our programs, how isolated we are in the academic graduate school environment, and how competitive we are forced to be in order to survive with our dignity intact.
